Treatments

Each treatment is carried out through the use of advanced and specific robotic tools and technology.
Furthermore, each machine requires particular technical skills for which I trained thoroughly until I was perfectly prepared.

Robot assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP).

Performed under general anaesthesia, as inpatient (average hospital stay: 1 night). Indicated in case of localized prostate cancer.

Robot assisted radical cystectomy (RARC):

Performed under general anaesthesia, as inpatient (5-7 days). Indicated in case of muscle-invasive or high-risk non muscle-invasive bladder cancer.

Flexible cystoscopy:

Exploration of the bladder with a flexible instrument equipped with a camera. Performed under local anaesthesia, with minimal discomfort for the patient, in day-surgery. Indicated in case of haematuria (blood with urine), recurrent infections, persistent urinary symptoms.

Transurethral resection of bladder tumour (TURBT):

Performed under general anaesthesia, in day-surgery or as inpatient, depending on the clinical circumstances. Indicated in case of first diagnosis of bladder cancer (after flexible cystoscopy) or in case of recurrence of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer.

Transperineal prostate biopsy:

Transperineal tissue harvesting from the prostate gland. Performed either under local or general anaesthesia, in day-surgery regimen. Indicated in case of suspicion of prostate cancer due to elevated PSA and/or suspicious MRI.

Circumcision:

Removal of the foreskin, usually in case of phimosis (difficulty or inability to expose the glans). Performed either under general or local anaesthesia, in day-surgery regimen.

Vasectomy:

ligation of the vas deferens. Performed under local anaesthesia, in day-surgery regimen. Indicated as an anti-conception method in males.

Hydrocelectomy:

Performed under general anaesthesia, in day-surgery regimen. Indicated in case of voluminous and/or symptomatic hydrocele (accumulation of liquid around the testicles).

Removal of epididymal cyst:

Performed under general anaesthesia, in day-surgery regimen. Indicated in case of a voluminous cyst that causes pain or symptoms.

Transurethral resection of prostate (TURP):

Performed under general anaesthesia, as inpatient (2-3 days). Indicated in cases of benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate) that causes symptoms that are unresponsive to medical therapy.

Semi-rigid and flexible ureterorenoscopy:

Performed under general anaesthesia, in day-surgery or as inpatient, depending on the clinical circumstances. Indicated in case stones in the urinary tract.
